The XRN Class entered service in 2010 with mining company Xstrata and are now owned by Magnetic Rail Group. They share the C44aci production model that is in service with various freight operators in Australia. A total of 30 XRN Class units were in service by 2012, representing Australia’s largest fleet of C44aci units. They operate in Hunter Valley coal haulage.
