Sydney
Most suburban passenger train services in Sydney are operated by Sydney Trains. The designations T1–T9 are used by Sydney Trains to refer to lines in the suburban area, with some lines combined into the one designation where trains run over the same lines on a regular route. The following separate timetables are issued for Sydney Trains services:

Metro Trains Sydney operates the Metro North West & Bankstown line between Tallawong and Sydenham.
Passenger train services in the Sydney interurban area are provided by NSW TrainLink and are referred to as Intercity services. They service the following lines:

Suburban and interurban train services in the Sydney area operate on standard gauge (1435 mm) tracks.
