Originally in service with Union Pacific in the United States, the first nine units of the SD90MAC-H Phase II Class were purchased by Fortescue Metals Group in 2011. Their original EMD 265 engines were not successful and they were re-engined with less powerful EMD 710G3B engines. They are used for iron ore haulage in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Numbers 910–917 have been scrapped.
