Introduced in 2009, two units were built at Port Augusta in South Australia as an updated version of the S Class in operation with Aurizon in Western Australia. R1005 remains in service with Rio Tinto Aluminium at Weipa, located on Cape York in Far North Queensland. R1006 was withdrawn following accident damage.
