The Flexity 2 Class was introduced to inaugurate the Gold Coast light rail line in 2014. These Light Rail Vehicles consist of seven modules. They are the longest type of tram to ever have been used in Australia, and have a maximum speed of 70 km/h. The Gold Coast system operates with 750 volts DC. Fourteen Flexity 2 Class members initially entered service, followed by a further four in 2017.
