Twelve of the CF Class units entered service with CFCL Australia (now Rail First Asset Management) from 2011 to 2013. More units commenced operating from 2022. They were built using the C44aci production model, which is in service with various railway operators throughout Australia. Some of the units owned by Rail First Asset Management have been leased to other operators. CF4401 and CF4409 were sold to Aurizon in 2016.
