A MyWay card is a smart card used for travel on light rail and bus services within Canberra. MyWay cards can be purchased and value topped up at Access Canberra Service Centres and MyWay recharge agents, online or by telephone (13 17 10). The purchase cost of a MyWay card is $5.00 for adults, and $2.50 for Concession and Student fares. Australian Capital Territory Seniors Card holders apply for a combined ACT Seniors MyWay card, while interstate residents can apply for an Interstate Seniors MyWay card. Off peak fares apply between 9.00 am and 4.30 pm and after 6.00 pm on weekdays, and at any time on weekends and public holidays. Seniors and Concession MyWay card holders receive free off peak travel.
Using a MyWay card involves tapping on and tapping off at the beginning and end of a journey. A paid trip cap applies for each calendar month, so that after 40 paid trips using a MyWay card have been made, or 30 paid trips for school students, subsequent journeys are free for the remainder of the month. Free transfers are available to change services within 90 minutes.
