Seventeen of the 93 Class units entered service from 2012 to 2014, with another three commencing operations in 2017, and a further four in 2020. Pacific National ordered these locomotives for intermodal service between Melbourne and Brisbane, although they have been used for other duties, such as hauling The Overland passenger train between Melbourne and Adelaide.
