The 900 Class is comprised of former DL531 units: the 830 Class, 48 Class and Silverton locomotive number 27. They were rebuilt as the DA Class in the 1990s and later renumbered as the 900 Class. Their service was mainly used in general freight service on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, but most are now stored.
