The 2300D Class were part of the 2300 Class before being refurbished with larger fuel tanks and some other modifications. Their additional weight sees them restricted to West Moreton coal service. In 2024 locomotive 2301D was reclassified as 2301L and lightened to enable it to operate west of Emerald.
