Members of the 1550, 2400, 2450 and 2470 Classes were rebuilt at Redbank Workshops in Brisbane from 1997 to 2002 to form the 2300 Class. They are used in a range of general duties throughout Queensland. Seven units were transferred to Western Australia and reclassified as the DFZ Class.
